Bought Two Otterbox Cases for my Twin sons iTouch device. I had settled for the defender for both however one of my Sons wanted it in white to match his iPod.

The Defender and the Commuter are both excellent products. I only wish the Defender had come in a White Case to Satisfy Both my Son's appeal which is why we went with one commuter and one defender. The Commuter is no lush it feels good in the hand and appears to give almost as good protection.

Note that both devices come with some sort of screen protection The defender has it built into the case where the Commuter sends seperate screen protector of good quality. This could be a plus should you require to replace the protector in the future due to scratches, where the Defender may need to be altered to do this unless they sell replacements for them which I am not aware of.

The Commuter is thinner and will probably slide in pocket easier then the defender however the defender seems to provide the ultimate protection including from scratches on the Apple Logo in the back which the Commuter does not.

No Matter which case you pick they are both Winners, If you want ultimate protection go with the Defender, if Less Bulk and more Style and colors go with the Commuter.

If docking your device is common function I suggest you look at some of the other products Otterbox provides as these cases do not facilitate removal and I feel constant removal of case will only weaken the case clasps and rubber barrier. Otterbox has some cases specifically for docking.
